Our sustainability concept
With this in mind, we would like to involve our employees and you, dear guests, in our sustainability concept just as much as our regional suppliers and service providers. Our aim is to create a holistic system at Hotel Rita where everyone makes their contribution every day and takes responsibility.
Guided by values such as respect and mindfulness of nature, we can make a difference with many small measures and enjoy a high-quality, healthy coexistence with a clear conscience.
The following topics are important to us:
Communication
"Talking brings people together" - and we love talking about sustainability! In the interests of efficiency, however, we also use technical tools that keep everyone involved up to date on our measures for greater sustainability. An employee guide encourages compliance with the sustainability concept.
Conserving resources
Measures such as a solar system to heat the swimming pool, connection to the local district heating system, installation of energy-saving light sources and careful use of energy sources in the building have already been successfully implemented. Our electricity comes exclusively from renewable energy sources. During remodelling and renovation work, we pay attention to the efficient use of energy resources.
Our water-saving measures
We have implemented water-saving measures in all areas of the hotel (toilets, washbasins, showers etc. are equipped with the appropriate aids to save water). We inform our employees about water-saving options and update them on an ongoing basis.
Waste avoidance
We follow the principle of producing as little waste as possible. We also aim to reduce organic waste by making precise calculations when cooking and by offering smaller portions of food. We do not buy drinks and food in portioned, non-recyclable containers and also avoid the use of plastic in the bar and restaurant as far as possible. We completely avoid unnecessary disposable products such as flip-flops.
Environmentally conscious use
All departments have access to organic and eco-labelled cleaning products. Staff are trained in their use by the head of department. By offering to dispense with room cleaning, fewer cleaning agents are used and towels are no longer washed daily.
Food & Beverages
Regional, organic and reusable are the keywords of our purchasing policy in the food & beverage sector. We try to source as much food as possible from regional suppliers, have a selection of organically produced food and drinks in our range and only use (where available) food and drinks in recyclable containers.
E-mobility
We promote environmentally friendly mobility for employees and guests, for example by offering free bicycles for hire. Climate-friendly routes are clearly communicated when guests arrive. We encourage our employees to form car pools or use public transport. Thanks to cooperation with local transport providers and our offer of the included Ötztal Summer Card, our guests have the opportunity to use public transport free of charge.
And what's next?
... which is why our sustainability concept is also a project that is constantly evolving. The management and employees are constantly reviewing and scrutinizing the measures mentioned. What can be done even better, where is there hidden potential for even more sustainability?
